Call to Adventure
The Call to Adventure for Rama does not come directly to Rama himself but through Rama's father. When the sage Viswamithra comes to King Dasaratha because he wishes "to perform, before the next full moon, a yagna at Sidhasrama" and he finds that "there are evil creatures hovering about waiting to disturb every holy undertaking" (8). So Viswamithra requests that King Dasaratha "send Rama with" him (8). This Call to Adventure is made unique because it does not directly come to Rama.
